The Most Vivacious Viognier Wine Pairings
What is Viognier?
Viognier is a white grape variety from the Rhône Valley in France, specifically from Condrieu’s small appellation. There are tiny amounts of this variety grown in its native spot, but it has gained popularity worldwide, especially in California. Viognier produces richly textured wines with soft acidity. Flavors and aromas are ripe peaches, exotic citrus, tropical fruits, honeysuckle, and touches of potpourri.
What Food Viognier Pair Best With?
Viognier since it is a rich, fruity, and floral wine pairs best with richer foods. Viognier works particularly well with creamy chicken and fish dishes, food seasoned with spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, coriander, and ginger, and dishes with nuts sprinkled in.
